Markets and prices moved on bill optimism
Risk appetite returned across digital assets Monday on rising confidence around a major US crypto bill. On Polymarket, the chance of the Clarity Act clearing this year moved from about 14% to near 30%, a sizable shift even if passage remains far from a sure thing.
Bigger moves in stocks than coins
Bitcoin, which makes up around 60% of the total crypto market’s value, pushed back toward the $80,000 mark, gaining as much as 1.5% to $78,452. Crypto-adjacent equities popped more than tokens: Coinbase Global Inc. jumped up to 8%, and Circle Internet Group Inc. rose as much as 6.4%.
The bill’s changes and reaction
Senators said they plan to begin procedural votes later this week, and Republicans released a final draft ahead of that. Updates in the latest text include giving the Treasury Secretary authority to act if deposit flight becomes “detrimental” to community banks. It also introduces ethics rules for the president and any elected officials with crypto holdings, requiring the president to divest or place significant positions in a blind trust or face financial penalties, with state attorneys general empowered to help enforce those ethics provisions.

Analysts weigh the compromise
Clear Street’s team framed the ethics revisions as central to closing the gap with Democrats, writing Monday, “We believe the ethics compromise as the most important single change, since it was the primary Democratic sticking point.” They called the outlook “incrementally positive” for Coinbase, Circle and Bullish.
