ProShares Files to Update Solana, XRP ETF Deadline to June 25

ProShares has proposed an update with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to move the effective date for its Solana and XRP ETF to June 25, 2025. This suggests that spot Solana and XRP ETFs could be approved as early as June 25. Moreover, Franklin Templeton’s XRP ETF deadline is also set at June 17, sparking optimism around an approval this month.

According to the document, “This post-effective amendment designates a new effective date for a previously filed post-effective amendment.” In short, the change applies specifically to Proshares Solana and XRP ETF fillings that were originally submitted on January 17, 2025.

On June 10, Proshares submitted two Form N-1A filings to the SEC, requesting the revision of effective dates for the firm’s XRP and SOL ETFs. If the agency accepts this proposal, it would have to offer a clear decision by the above-mentioned date instead of delaying it as seen in recent updates.

While the specific reasons for the delays by the SEC were not detailed in the filing, such adjustments are common in bringing new investment products to the market. As of now SEC has not approved a single spot XRP ETF, but ProShares and Franklin Templeton have high chances of being the first ones.
