Binance’s CZ Reacts to CNBC Declaring Ripple and Bitcoin Dead

The infamous “Fast Money” segment CZ’s $1 million Bitcoin prediction 

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao has reacted to CNBC’s tongue-in-cheek “Bitcoin funeral” that took place in June 2018. 

Zhao acknowledged that a lot of cryptocurrency advocates were wrong as well back then. 

The infamous “Fast Money” segment 

The prominent business news network declared that Bitcoin was dead after its dramatic price decline.  

Melissa Lee and Dylan Ratigan, the hosts of CNBC’s “Fast Money,” held facetious solemnities for the leading cryptocurrency as well as some of its leading boosters such as Fundstrat’s permabull Tom Lee and Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz. The latter famously predicted that Bitcoin 

The segment often gets brought up by the members of the Bitcoin community to poke fun at the shortsightedness of the mainstream media when it comes to crypto.

The sarcastic broadcast also mentioned Ripple, the company linked to the XRP cryptocurrency. “I think we will miss you most of all, Brad Garlinghouse,” Lee said.

Zhao himself does not shy away from making uber-bullish Bitcoin predictions. As reported by U.Today, he previously forecasted that Bitcoin would “definitely” hit $1 million in 2025. 

Last month, CZ also stated that the cryptocurrency industry is still early. 

Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, is currently changing hands above the $105,000 level.
