Bitcoin-based DeFi protocol Threshold said all tBTC node operators have either applied a security patch for a critical Linux kernel vulnerability or shut down their nodes, The Defiant reported. Threshold said it found no signs of attacks on tBTC nodes exploiting the flaw or any unauthorized BTC transfers, and added that tBTC collateral remains intact.
The protocol also disclosed that about 0.5 ETH was stolen from one node operator’s transaction fee payout account in a separate security incident, which it said was unrelated to the Linux vulnerability. New tBTC minting and BTC redemptions remain suspended, while restrictions also remain in place on new deposits and additional collateralized borrowing against Aave’s roughly $136.3 million in tBTC reserves.
