The U.S. crypto industry is pouring more than $200 million into congressional lobbying and the 2026 midterm elections as it seeks passage of the Clarity Act, a comprehensive digital asset regulatory bill that stalled in the Senate in September, CNBC reported.
According to Public Citizen, virtual asset-related groups have formed the largest-ever single-issue super PAC coalition and ranked first in federal corporate political spending. The spending push is being led by Fairshake, a super PAC backed by Coinbase and Ripple. Fairshake has supported 33 House candidates across party lines, including 19 Republicans and 14 Democrats, while also spending $55 million in Ohio, the biggest Senate battleground, to defeat Democratic candidate Sherrod Brown, a longtime crypto critic.
