Dutch households held €3.2 billion ($3.5 billion) in cryptocurrencies through domestic crypto service providers as of the end of June, the Dutch central bank said today. That amounted to about 1.4% of household investments in stocks, funds and bonds, which totaled €234.2 billion ($255.5 billion).
Of those crypto holdings, Bitcoin accounted for €1.5 billion ($1.6 billion) and Ethereum for €300 million ($327.3 million), while stablecoins made up less than 1%. Including €200 million ($218.2 million) held by other Dutch sectors such as companies, the total came to €3.4 billion ($3.7 billion).
The data marked the first time the Dutch central bank has disclosed such figures. It covers only assets held with Netherlands-based crypto service providers such as Bitvavo, and excludes crypto held through overseas firms or stored directly in personal wallets.
