South Korea’s Korea Exchange triggered a buy-side sidecar as gains in the KOSPI widened. It was the first such move in four trading days since Oct. 21. The KOSPI was trading at 5,701.12, up 4.26% from the previous session. A sidecar is designed to prevent sharp moves in the futures market from spilling over into the spot market, and is triggered when KOSPI 200 futures rise or fall more than 5% from a reference price for more than one minute.
