An estimated $2.65 million in cryptocurrency was stolen in a phishing attack that exploited hardware wallet maker NGRAVE’s app notification system, CryptoSlate reported. On Oct. 17, hackers breached an external service handling push notifications for NGRAVE’s Liquid app and sent fake security alerts to users. The attackers then prompted users to enter their recovery phrases and stole their assets. Blockchain analytics firm Bitquery estimated 84 wallets were affected, and traced about $2.16 million of the stolen funds to 39 Hyperliquid accounts.
