Mysten Labs co-founder says Sui was built for quantum-resistant cryptography

Kostas Chalkias, co-founder of Sui developer Mysten Labs, said on X that Sui was designed from an early stage with quantum-resistant cryptography in mind. Chalkias said the team had treated “cryptographic agility” as a core principle since developing R3 Corda in 2016 and 2017, allowing cryptographic algorithms to be replaced or added, and later applied the approach to Libra and then Sui. He explained that this design allows Sui to support multiple digital signature methods and quantum-resistant cryptography, while also offering zkLogin, a social login feature, and multisig without additional gas fees.
