Patrick Witt, chief of staff of the White House crypto advisory council, resigned last week, CoinDesk reported. The post remains vacant with no successor and no nomination at this stage, according to the report.
CoinDesk said attention in Washington is currently focused on next month’s midterm elections, while the administration is still shaping cryptocurrency policy. Even after a new Congress takes office next year, the White House is expected to need a point of contact for crypto matters, the outlet said. Former White House crypto advisory council chairman Bo Hines and deputy chief of staff Harry Jung had also resigned earlier.
