Fidelity Center for Applied Technology said in a report on Solana’s network health and resilience that while Solana has maintained stable operations, concentration in staking, hosting infrastructure and client software remains a major risk.
According to Crypto Briefing, Solana has not suffered a major mainnet outage since Feb. 6, 2024, and validator vote success rates for block finalization stood at about 99.7% in 2026. The network also expanded throughput by shortening slot times.
The report said tokenized real-world assets on Solana grew to $4.4 billion from about $1 billion a year earlier, while first-quarter stablecoin transfer volume topped $2 trillion.
At the same time, stake concentration was identified as a key vulnerability. Based on third-quarter data, about 18 validators control enough stake to halt network finality. The report said transaction confirmation could stop if one-third of total staked shares were interrupted or acted in concert.
Hosting concentration was also cited as a concern. A single hosting provider accounts for about 29% of total staked shares, above the threshold set by the Solana Foundation, the report said.
Client software diversity also remains limited. About 63% of total stake uses Jito-Solana and 26% uses the Harmonic client, with both linked to the core Agave codebase. FCAT warned that a flaw in shared underlying code could affect nodes using different clients at the same time.
