Russia’s central bank said it will ban cryptocurrency transfers from individuals’ regulated accounts to non-custodial wallets, according to Crypto Briefing.
Bitcoin purchased through officially approved platforms must remain within authorized systems, and withdrawals to personal wallets are not allowed. The restriction is part of Russia’s crypto regulations that took effect on Sept. 1, which legalized cryptocurrency trading and custody through regulated institutions. On the same day, the central bank also approved Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, to operate a cryptocurrency exchange.
