Lido said it has launched a feature that lets users stake ETH directly on Ethereum layer-two networks including Arbitrum, Base, Linea and Optimism.
Users can stake through Lido’s website without moving ETH to the Ethereum mainnet themselves and receive wstETH, Lido’s deposit receipt and liquid staking token. Staked ETH is exchanged for wstETH through dedicated liquidity pools on each L2 network, with the amount of wstETH determined based on Chainlink price feeds reflecting the Lido protocol’s conversion rate. The ETH is then automatically transferred to the Ethereum mainnet through Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, for staking on Lido, while the secured wstETH is supplied back into the liquidity pool.
