Ripple has voted in favor of a governance proposal in the XRPL v3.3.0 upgrade that includes the XLS-68 amendment for “Sponsored Fees and Reserves,” CoinGape reported. The amendment is intended to let companies and institutions cover users’ transaction fees and account reserves, lowering entry barriers for new users. CoinGape said Ripple’s support is also tied to expanding the use of XRP and RLUSD assets. Mainnet activation, however, requires at least 28 of 35 UNL validators to vote in favor for two straight weeks. So far, 11 validators, including Ripple, have backed the proposal, putting the approval rate at 31.43%.
