Eclair, a Bitcoin Lightning Network node software client, has merged fixes into its master branch for two critical flaws that could drain node funds through excessive mining fees during channel openings and splicing, a technique that adjusts Bitcoin capacity without closing a channel. The patch set, PR #3388 and #3390, blocks a loophole that could let a malicious counterparty abuse RBF to force the other node to pay high mining fees and strengthens validation logic against false transactions. The latest official release remains v0.14.3 from September, so Eclair node operators are advised to verify whether the October patch code has been incorporated into their own builds.
