Russia’s central bank on Oct. 6 released its first list of registered crypto businesses eligible under a cryptocurrency law that took effect on Sept. 1, Cointelegraph reported. The list includes four exchange operators and five custodians.
Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, was included on the list of approved digital asset custodians. The bank had recently applied to the central bank for a custodian license and said it plans to launch its first cryptocurrency product on Dec. 1. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously signed the new law in August to regulate crypto exchanges, custodians, brokers, and investors.
