South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lee Hyoung-il said the government will broadly gather views from the National Assembly, experts and the industry on cryptocurrency taxation, after People Power Party lawmaker Kim Sang-hoon asked about the government’s basic stance during a parliamentary audit today, Edaily reported.
On potential tax revenue from introducing crypto taxation, Lee said it is difficult to estimate and added that the government will listen to opinions. Although Lee had previously said the tax would take effect as scheduled next year, Lee did not clearly restate that position today.
