New York and Wyoming have signed a memorandum of understanding to streamline licensing reviews for crypto companies, Bitcoin.com reported. Under the agreement, firms that have operated for more than three years under the supervision of existing regulators and are not currently subject to enforcement proceedings can receive licensing reviews within six months if they meet certain requirements. The two states also plan to expand supervisory cooperation through joint examinations and information-sharing on investigations, while each state will retain its existing licensing authority. The agreement centers on linking New York’s BitLicense regime for virtual asset businesses with Wyoming’s digital-asset banking supervisory framework.
