Bitcoin analyst PlanB said on X that BTC closed September at $83,563, above both its realized price of $54,000 and its 200-week moving average of $66,000. Based on on-chain data, 71% of the total BTC supply is now in profit, with the current price above the purchase price, while 82% of BTC holding addresses and 80% of UTXOs, or unspent transaction outputs, are also in profit. Asked whether ETF-held Bitcoin was included, PlanB said the metric is based on on-chain data, so ETF holdings are reflected indirectly when the funds buy and sell actual BTC.
