Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said at the 12th Global Blockchain Summit that advances in AI and data analysis are making it harder to protect onchain privacy simply by separating real names from transaction records. Buterin added that modern cryptography can protect not only assets but also information, making “programmable privacy” possible through code that sets both asset-transfer permissions and access rights to specific data.
