Aave founder says DeFi may need ‘Uber path’ after CLARITY vote setback

Aave founder Stani Kulechov said DeFi may need to take the ‘Uber path’ after a procedural vote on the CLARITY bill failed in the U.S. Senate.

Kulechov said the ‘Uber path’ means building a service used by millions first, rather than waiting for a regulatory framework to be established, and proving the technology’s real-world effectiveness. He added that the approach would expand the industry’s influence to a point where policymakers would have little choice but to develop regulatory measures, meaning the sector should broaden real-world use cases and its user base before legislation is in place.
