The XRP(XRP) Ledger packed 3,254 transactions into a single ledger on Sept. 14, a record set three days after a protocol fix went live.

XRPL Transaction Record Explained
Hussein Zangana, community director at the XRP Ledger Foundation and known online as Vet, reported the count after reviewing the ledger. Most entries carried a single drop, the smallest unit of XRP and one millionth of a token. The ledger index and the account behind the burst were not identified in his post, which leaves the record claim resting on his own review.
He called the pattern probable throughput testing, and the sender has not explained the activity.
A ledger filled with plain payments does not tax validators the way one carrying exchange orders, token operations or cross-currency paths would, and Zangana estimated that 500 simple payments could weigh less than 200 trades. The figure also describes transactions included in the ledger rather than 3,254 completed transfers, because entries that fail still consume a fee and stay on the record.
Why XRPL Capacity Targets Matter
Unlike Bitcoin(BTC), the XRP Ledger sets no fixed ceiling on how many transactions fit into a block. Zangana said the network can raise its soft target when a heavily loaded ledger still closes quickly, a result validators treat as healthy consensus. It can also pull that target down when close times drift past the range the network prefers.
That distinction shapes how much the figure is worth, because one crowded ledger does not prove a permanent lift in sustained capacity, which still turns on transaction complexity, hardware and consecutive close times. No operator reported a failed consensus round during the burst, and XRP traded near $1.38 as the record circulated.
XRP Ledger Records Keep Falling
The benchmark has been moving almost daily. On Sept. 13, Zangana counted 2,713 transactions in ledger 106,943,716, which closed in 3.8 seconds, and a mark of 2,768 followed within hours. He traced those payments to a ring of 20 accounts firing together, and told node operators they might need to raise message size limits on their connections.
The repairs behind the run reached mainnet on Sept. 11, when fixCleanup3_3_0 activated in validated ledger 106,911,489 with 31 of 35 validators behind it, or 88.57% support.
The bundle corrected handling for vaults, lending, automated market makers, the permissioned exchange, Checks and pseudo-accounts. Five larger features from the 3.3.0 software release stay switched off, and BatchV1_1 sits nearest at 27 of 35 validators, short of the 80% that amendments must hold for two straight weeks.
