Strategy’s latest disclosure, posted by Saylor on X, showed the firm’s Bitcoinholdings unchanged at 845,050 BTC, with no new purchases logged for the period.
Instead, the company directed $139 million toward repurchasing its own STRC preferred shares, as per the SEC filling.
For a firm that has spent years defined by aggressive, near-weekly accumulation, a week without a single coin addedstands out.
It marks the second straight week the Bitcoin count has held flat, even as the buyback activity around it has picked up pace.
Why Saylor is sitting on cash
Strategy currently holds $6.4 billion in dollar-denominated assets, with an average duration of roughly four years. By redeploying that cash into buybacks rather than Bitcoin, the company appears focused on tightening its capital structure rather than growing its coin count for now.
Saylor disclosed that, based on a Bitcoin price near $77,000, an assumed 10% annual return and 40% volatility, the credit spread on STRC shares sits at 57 basis points, a figure the instrument uses to generate yield for investors independent of Bitcoin’s own price swings.
This isn’t the first time Strategy has leaned on STRC to send a signal. Just last week, Saylor announced the company had doubled its repurchase authorization from $1 billion to $2 billion, after already deploying $176 million under the original plan.
That update also carried the same 845,050 BTC figure alongside $6.5 billion in USD reserves at the time, meaning the current $139 million move builds directly on that expanded program rather than starting a new one.
A company still flexing its balance sheet
The buyback discipline follows another milestone Saylor shared earlier this month, when he noted Strategy’s Total Reserve Capital had climbed past every financial services firm in the S&P 500 aside from Berkshire Hathaway, at roughly $66 billion against Berkshire’s $364 billion.
Taken together, the numbers suggest Strategy is leaning less on adding fresh Bitcoin week to week and more on managing the capital structure it has already built around its existing stack.
