XRP Price Prediction: We Asked ChatGPT Where XRP Trades in 2 Years

ChatGPT handed down a specific two-year price target for XRP, but the road to get there runs straight through a Senate vote, stalling ETF inflows, and a record XRP has never actually broken.

XRP(CRYPTO: XRP) trades near $1.35 today, after falling from $1.45 to $1.39 over the past week but still gaining about 36% from its August low near $1.02. Year to date, XRP remains down 24.43% from its $1.84 opening price.

We asked ChatGPT where XRP could trade in two years, and its AI agent returned a $3.50 to $6.00 range for September 2028, with $4.75 as its central estimate. From $1.35, the low end would require a 159% gain, while $6.00 would mean a 344% jump. The $4.75 estimate sits in the middle at a 252% gain, taking XRP to roughly 3.5 times its current price.

That makes $4.75 an ambitious call, but the real question is whether XRP can turn its recent rebound into a sustained two-year rally.

What XRP Would Be Worth at $4.75

A move to $4.75 would take XRP above both its recent cycle high and its previous all-time high. XRP’s record stands at $3.84, set in January 2018, so reaching that level from today’s $1.35 price would require a 184% gain, taking XRP to about 2.84 times its current price. The 2025 cycle also came close, withXRP reaching $3.65 on July 18, 2025,but that move still stopped short of the old record. ChatGPT’s $4.75 estimate would therefore represent a new record rather than simply a return to a price XRP has already reached.

A $3.84 XRP price today would represent a larger market capitalization than the same price represented when XRP reached its record in 2018. By September 2028, the market capitalization behind a $4.75 XRP could be larger again if the circulating supply continues to increase. That does not make $4.75 impossible, but it means the market would need to support a much larger total value than the price alone suggests.

At today’s $1.35, XRP already represents a substantial market, so reaching $4.75 would require roughly 3.5 times today’s price while also accounting for any additional tokens entering circulation. ChatGPT’s target would require enough new demand to absorb the growing supply and value the entire XRP market at a significantly higher level by September 2028.

ChatGPT’s $4.75 central estimate for XRP depends on more than another good run. These catalysts could determine whether the forecast has a strong foundation.

ETF Demand Just Cooled Off Hard

Spot XRP ETFshave become a meaningfuln since their launch. However, the monthly figures show that demand has been uneven rather than consistently rising. ETFs attracted $131.94 million in May and a yearly high of $159.18 million in August, while September has recorded $32.29 million so far

CLARITY Act Cloture Vote Arrives September 15, 2026

Regulatory clarity is another important part of ChatGPT’s bullish case for XRP, and this assumption is about to face a much more concrete test. The Senate is scheduled to vote onCLARITY Actcloture on September 15, 2026, with 60 votes required to end debate and move the bill forward.

A successful cloture vote would not mean the bill has passed, but it would keep the market-structure legislation moving. A failed vote would make the timeline less certain and could weaken one of the arguments behind a sustained XRP rally. 

However, the regulatory case does not depend entirely on this one vote. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong told CNBC on September 10 that clearer U.S. crypto rules are coming with or without Senate approval, suggesting that regulatory progress could continue even if the CLARITY Act faces delays.

Can XRP Reach $4.75 by September 2028?

XRP reaching $4.75 by September 2028 looks unlikely, and ChatGPT’s own forecast highlights the hurdles standing in the way. XRP first needs to reclaim $1.84, which would require a 36.3% gain from $1.35. ETF demand would then need to strengthen, with weekly inflows returning toward the $110.5 million level rather than the $19 million recorded in the week ending September 5, 2026. The CLARITY Act would also need to make meaningful progress, while XRP would eventually have to break its $3.84 all-time high, a level the 2025 rally failed to reach.

ChatGPT identified the biggest risk itself, warning about “utility failing to translate into token demand.” It also said XRP could remain between $1 and $2 in 2028 if ETF demand stagnates or a prolonged bear market develops. More importantly, it warned against assuming XRP becomes the dominant global payments asset. That leaves a wide gap between XRP’s potential utility and the level of token demand needed to support a $4.75 price.

If weekly spot XRP ETF inflows do not return toward $110.5 million before the end of 2026, demand may not be strong enough to support ChatGPT’s bullish case. Also, if the cloture vote fails and regulatory progress stalls, the $4.75 target could require another crypto cycle rather than the one now developing.
