Poland’s Sejm again failed to overturn President Karol Nawrocki’s veto of a crypto regulation bill, voting 241-198 on Friday but falling 25 votes short of the 266 needed for the three-fifths majority.

KuCoin reported that the bill would have assigned crypto market supervision to Poland’s Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) as MiCA applies across the EU, but the override attempt missed the threshold “with three abstentions.”
The dispute centers on whether a national framework is necessary for licensing and enforcement, while KNF has said Poland still lacks a designated authority responsible for supervising cryptoassets despite MiCA already taking effect across the European Union.
Tusk cites Zondacrypto
Prime Minister Donald Tusk urged lawmakers to support the bill while referencing the Zondacrypto investigation, and KuCoin said the case widened amid bankruptcy proceedings against Zondacrypto’s Estonian operator.
KuCoin reported that Tusk disclosed excerpts from testimony alleging improper attempts to influence political figures, including a “2 million Polish zloty ($550,000) payment arrangement involving a foundation linked to former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro.”
