XRP Branding Arrives at Florida Field
Florida Athletics, the University of Florida’s intercollegiate sports program known as the Florida Gators, announced the multiyear sponsorship on Sept. 4, bringing Ripple’s XRP branding to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium beginning with the 2026 football season. The agreement also covers Florida Athletics’ digital properties and event signage while extending financial and technology education to student-athletes and the broader campus community.
University of Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin stated:

An Associated Press report placed the agreement’s value at $5 million annually, citing a person familiar with the negotiations. Florida and Ripple did not disclose the financial terms.
NCAA Rule Opens New Revenue Channel
The sponsorship follows a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rule change permitting commercial field advertisements during regular-season football games beginning in 2024. Schools may place one advertisement at midfield and no more than two smaller advertisements elsewhere. The rule permits season-long agreements or separate arrangements covering individual games.
Florida previously sold field advertising to Geico for its final two home games of the 2025 season, with the insurer paying $1 million per game, according to AP. The Ripple agreement therefore represents a longer commitment as Florida advances a planned $1.45 billion renovation of the Swamp, targeted for completion before the 2030 football season.
Ripple Extends Its College Sports Campaign
The Florida agreement extends Ripple’s expansion into college athletics two months after the company reached a multiyear arrangement with the University of Kansas. That partnership will place XRP branding on Jayhawk uniforms across the athletic program. Ripple described the Kansas agreement as the first cryptocurrency sponsorship displayed on the jersey of a major college athletics program.
Education also forms part of Ripple’s Florida commitment, covering traditional finance and digital assets for students and athletes. The company previously committed $25 million to U.S. education programs, with Ripple’s first-year grant results showing support for 48,108 DonorsChoose projects. Teach For America funding provided stipends for 2,300 new teachers and helped introduce blockchain training in high schools.
XRP Exposure Expands Beyond Financial Markets
Ripple has also pursued university partnerships centered on building applications for the XRP Ledger. Its accelerator initiative with the University of California, Berkeley involved nine startups working across payments, tokenized markets, insurance and the creator economy. Participants received technical assistance and presented their work to Ripple representatives, developers and venture capital firms.
