Daily volume across crypto trading terminals surpassed $1 billion on September 2 for the first time since the Official Trump token launch in January 2025, reaching $1.03 billion versus $338 million two weeks earlier. The surge was driven almost entirely by new platforms gmgn and fomo, which together handled $747.94 million, or 73% of total terminal volume. Robinhood Chain accounted for $834.7 million, or 81.2%, of the day’s blockchain-level volume, while Solana held steady at $149.4 million in absolute terms despite its market share dropping to 14.5%. Legacy terminals Trojan, Photon, and BonkBot combined for less than $5 million, under 0.5% of the total. The data reflects shifting retail order routing preferences rather than new onchain demand.
Key Elements

Daily trading volume across crypto trading terminals surpassed $1 billion on Wednesday for the first time since the Official Trump token launch in January 2025, a milestone driven almost entirely by a new crop of platforms routing orders to Robinhood Chain rather than the front-ends that dominated the previous memecoin cycle.
Onchain analyst adam_tehc, citing Dune data, reported that terminal volume reached $1.03 billion on September 2, up sharply from roughly $338 million just two weeks earlier. The surge marks a dramatic reshuffling of the retail trading landscape, with platforms that barely registered a year ago now commanding the bulk of order flow.
Gmgn and fomo, two relatively new entrants, together processed $747.94 million on the record-setting day, accounting for approximately 73% of all terminal volume. Gmgn led the field with $479.74 million, while fomo handled $268.20 million. The remaining volume was spread thinly across a handful of other platforms: Axiom recorded $95.50 million, basedbot $77.76 million, pumpapp $67.03 million, Maestro $20.01 million, and a platform called terminal $14.96 million.
The contrast with the previous cycle is stark. Trojan, Photon, and BonkBot — the terminals that captured the bulk of retail flow during the 2024 and early 2025 memecoin frenzy — processed a combined total of less than $5 million on the same day. Trojan handled $2.63 million, Photon $1.52 million, and BonkBot just $707,960. Together they represented under 0.5% of the category’s record volume.
The blockchain breakdown tells an even clearer story. Robinhood Chain, the network developed by the financial technology company Robinhood, accounted for $834.7 million of Wednesday’s total terminal volume, or 81.2%. Solana followed at $149.4 million (14.5%), with BNB Chain contributing $33.8 million (3.3%).
| Blockchain | Daily Volume (USD) | Market Share (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Robinhood Chain | $834.7 million | 81.2% |
| Solana | $149.4 million | 14.5% |
| BNB Chain | $33.8 million | 3.3% |
Note: Figures are for September 2, 2026, based on Dune data cited by onchain analyst adam_tehc.
The overlap between terminal-level and blockchain-level data is difficult to ignore. Gmgn and fomo’s combined $747.94 million sits close to Robinhood Chain’s $834.7 million total, suggesting the surge is being driven by chain placement rather than any unique product features offered by the winning terminals. The platforms capturing the most volume are simply the ones routing trades to where the flow is — and right now, that is Robinhood Chain.
Solana’s dollar volume holds steady
While Solana’s market share appears to have collapsed — falling from levels above 80% through February and April to 14.5% on Wednesday — the percentage decline is misleading. Solana’s absolute dollar volume of $149.4 million is roughly in line with what the network was processing between February and June, when total terminal volume ranged from $50 million to $150 million per day.
What changed is the denominator. Robinhood Chain’s expansion, which began in July and gained momentum through August, added several hundred million dollars of daily flow on top of existing activity. That compressed everyone else’s percentage share without reducing their absolute volume. Charts tracking the shift show Robinhood Chain’s band expanding steadily through the summer before Wednesday’s spike pushed the combined total past the billion-dollar mark.
Terminal volume is a measure of decentralized exchange (DEX) flow attributed to whichever front-end interface initiated the trade. It reflects where retail traders are choosing to route orders, not a count of entirely new onchain activity. A trade that might otherwise have been executed through a wallet or aggregator still appears in terminal data if a terminal sent it.
That makes Wednesday’s record a read on distribution rather than demand. Retail trading activity remains robust, but it has migrated to a different set of doors — and those doors increasingly open onto Robinhood Chain. The shift underscores how quickly the competitive landscape in crypto trading infrastructure can change when a new network gains traction among retail users.
