<a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/cash-and-bitcoin-nearly-double-hyperscale-datas-stock-value/” title=”Cash and Bitcoin nearly double Hyperscale Data's stock value”>Bitcoin(BTC) moved back above $80,000 after a 4.3% Friday gain, but Fidelity says the rebound does not yet confirm the crypto bear market is finished.

    Key Points:

    • Bitcoin posted its strongest monthly gain since November 2024 after a late-August surge.
    • Fidelity still sees a possible November 2026 low if the four-year market cycle repeats, though July may already have marked the bottom.
    • Rising adoption, regulation and a shift from low to higher volatility are among the signals Fidelity is watching.

    Bitcoin Cycle Outlook

Fidelity said in its Sept. 1 Q4 crypto outlook that Bitcoin spent much of the third quarter under pressure before the late-August rally delivered its strongest monthly gain since November 2024. The firm warned that recent gains alone do not establish that a new bull market has begun.

Its four-year-cycle framework keeps November in focus because Bitcoin’s previous bear-market low arrived in November 2022, roughly four years before the next possible cycle low.

Fidelity said the timing has never been exact, and the market may already have bottomed in July or could still set another low in November or later.

Volatility adds another signal. Bitcoin traded with relatively low volatility from June through mid-August, then jumped more than 25% during the third week of August, while Ethereum(ETH) rose 34.1% and Solana(SOL) gained 28%. Fidelity said that low-to-high volatility sequence resembles earlier bear-market endings, but does not prove the current downturn is over.

    Fidelity Market Signals

Chris Kuiper, vice president of research at Fidelity Digital Assets, said the quiet summer period suggested sellers may have been exhausted and crypto assets were near the lower end of their historical valuation ranges. He also noted that the Coldcard security incident and the stalled CLARITY Act failed to push prices to new lows.

Adoption kept expanding. Bitwise Investments reported in July that stablecoin transaction volume had reached 2.3 times Visa’s volume, while MetaMask said the real-world asset market had grown faster in 2026 than in any previous year. Fidelity said the August recovery could mean adoption and prices are starting to “recouple.”

Policy could provide another catalyst. The CLARITY Act has passed the House but remains under Senate consideration, while the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets would address possible registration exemptions for certain early-stage crypto offerings. Fidelity also listed monetary policy changes, institutional adoption and new crypto use cases among factors that could help end the bear market.

A similar split between adoption and prices appeared during the 2021-2022 bear market, when crypto activity kept growing even while asset prices continued to fall.

When a new bull market began in late 2022, adoption and prices moved more closely together, and Bitcoin’s November 2022 low became the reference point for today’s four-year-cycle watch.
