Coinbase has submitted comment letters to the U.S. SEC and the U.S. CFTC as it seeks to offer stock-based perpetual futures trading to U.S. investors, Crypto Briefing reported. Coinbase proposed classifying stock perpetual futures as securities futures under existing law. The product would track share prices without requiring ownership of the underlying stocks and could trade around the clock without expiration. Coinbase currently offers non-U.S. users stock-based perpetual futures tied to Apple, Microsoft and Alphabet with leverage of up to 20x.
