Ethereum (ETH) rallied 5.32% after fresh spot ETF inflows and growing institutional participation provided the main impulse for today’s move. Record ETF inflows and staking signal robust institutional confidence
Spot Ethereum ETFs posted $1.85 billion in net inflows in August 2026, their strongest month since launch, and cumulative ETF inflows reached nearly $13 billion. Over 1.4 million ETH was added to validator contracts during the period, with more than 42 million ETH currently staked, underscoring increased network participation and supply lockup. Ethereum also maintained a 45% share of the $38.7 billion tokenized real-world asset sector, reflecting sustained institutional trust.
Bullish momentum holds as ETH nears resistance amid overbought signals
ETH/USD is trading clearly above the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at $2,299, $2,054, and $2,029 respectively, confirming bullish momentum across all time frames. Near-term, price action approaches resistance at the weekly high of $2,535, with $2,427 (today’s high) acting as nearby support. Trend alignment between the 50-day and 200-day averages further reflects longer-term bullish structure. Momentum signals are mostly constructive. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) points to “Strong Buy” and the Average Directional Index (ADX) reads “Buy”, both echoing upside potential. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stays in buy territory. The Stochastic RSI flags oversold conditions and the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) is neutral. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at 44.31 confirms buyers dominate intraday momentum, but notes overbought conditions. ETH/USD is near the high end of today’s range and intraday volatility stands at 2.40%. This mix reflects strength toward highs, although oscillators show some short-term divergence.
Earlier, analysts noted that broader UK retail access to Ethereum investment products remained constrained despite regulatory changes and new platform offerings. The current surge in spot ETF inflows and a growing institutional presence signal a material shift, making $2,535 a key breakout level to watch for renewed bullish momentum in ETH/USD.
