Key Elements
Money rushed back into the US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) market in just one day. A mere day after suffering net outflows exceeding $200 million in the prior session, the market swung to more than $100 million in net inflows.
According to data compiled by Trader T on the 3rd (local time), the 11 US spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively drew $101.15 million in net inflows the previous day — a swift recovery from the prior session’s massive exodus.
Leading the inflows was BlackRock’s IBIT. That single product alone attracted $115.45 million, exceeding the total net inflow figure for the entire group. Grayscale’s mini Bitcoin product took in $30.42 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT and Bitwise’s BITB added $7.3 million and $4.19 million, respectively.
On the flip side, Grayscale’s legacy Bitcoin product GBTC bled $56.21 million, marking the only net outflow of the day. The remaining products saw no net flows in either direction.
The spot Ethereum ETF market moved in the opposite direction the same day. US spot Ethereum ETFs posted a combined $48.07 million in net outflows, ending a 12-session streak of zero outflows. The prior session had recorded $10.95 million in net inflows.
Among Ethereum ETFs, BlackRock’s ETHA logged the largest net outflow at $53.35 million. Fidelity’s FETH and Grayscale’s ETHE also shed $26.17 million and $23.49 million, respectively. However, $52.91 million flowed into ETHB, the staking Ethereum ETF managed by BlackRock, substantially offsetting the exodus. 21Shares’ TETH also took in $2.03 million.
As Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF flows diverged, fund movement between products from major asset managers stood out in both assets. In BlackRock’s case, massive capital poured into the Bitcoin product IBIT while outflows hit the Ethereum product ETHA — with a portion of that money apparently rotating into the same manager’s staking product ETHB.
