Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said the cryptocurrency sector has weathered the harshest “crypto winter” in its history and that the sector’s fundamental dynamics remain strong.
Speaking at the <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/blackrock-leads-217m-rebound-in-us-bitcoin-etf-inflows/” title=”BlackRock Leads $217M Rebound in US Bitcoin ETF Inflows”>Bitcoin Asia 2026 event in Hong Kong, Zhao stated that the market has matured significantly after the sharp declines experienced in the past. Zhao, known as CZ, expressed a positive overall outlook for the future of the sector.
Zhao stated that expectations are particularly strong in the area of tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). He noted that tokenized assets on-chain can reduce time and border transaction constraints, and that these systems can increase the liquidity of small and medium-sized assets by connecting global investors.
Touching upon global regulatory approaches in the cryptocurrency sector, Zhao stated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the leading countries in this field. He also noted that the US is making rapid progress in regulating stablecoins and cryptocurrency exchanges.
Zhao noted that Japan has a friendly approach towards the crypto sector, Hong Kong is growing rapidly, and Singapore is pursuing a more cautious policy compared to other regions.
CZ also stated that decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have significantly improved in terms of both technological infrastructure and user awareness over the past eight years. Zhao noted that DEXs have now become a more mature part of the crypto ecosystem, arguing that the sector could experience an even greater leap forward if regulatory conditions were further relaxed globally.
Zhao’s remarks indicated that increased regulatory clarity in the crypto market, the widespread adoption of RWA tokenization, and the development of decentralized finance infrastructure could play a significant role in the sector’s next phase of growth.
