Ark Invest bought more shares of Block Inc. and Circle Internet Group during its latest round of trading as Cathie Wood’s investment firm continues to shift its stock positions in crypto-related companies.
The purchases made through the ARK Innovation ETF, the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF and the ARK Blockchain & Fintech Innovation ETF totaled 456,059 Block shares, and at Monday’s closing price of $82.02 — down 1.85% for the day — the purchases were worth about $37.4 million.
This followed Ark’s purchases of Block shares during dips in its share prices throughout 2026, including 236,759 shares for about $17.2 million in June boughtRKW and ARKF
Ark’s actively-managed funds periodically rebalance their holdings to account for changes in the market capitalization of stocks. Holdings are typically capped at 10% of the fund’s assets, so the manager will buy or sell in order to rebalance them to that percentage.
The latest Block purchase follows the release of the company’s second-quarter earnings report in August for the three months ending June 30, which showed a year-on-year gross profit increase of 25% to $3.17 billion. Cash App generated $1.97 billion (31% increase), and Square generated $1.16 billion (13% increase), with adjusted operating income of $864 million and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.02.
Subsequently, Block updated its fiscal 2026 guidance: the company now expects gross profit of $12.51 billion, implying year-on-year growth of 21% from its prior guidance for $12.33 billion. Block expects adjusted operating income of $3.47 billion, an operating margin of 28%, and adjusted diluted EPS growth of 70%.
The fintech firm has also continued to build its <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/bitcoin-price-forecast-whats-next-for-btc-in-september/” title=”Bitcoin Price Forecast: What’s next for BTC in September?”>Bitcoin treasury, adding another 85 BTC▲$62,630.00 in August, bringing the total to 9,117 BTC. The addition followed the firm becoming part of the S&P 500 in July. Block replaced Hess Corp. in the benchmark index after Chevron completed its purchase of the oil producer.
Ark’s Monday trades also included 35,192 shares of Circle worth about $3.36 million based on its $95.55 close, up 9.65% after a 7.5% drop on Friday.
The deal followed multiple other purchases of Circle shares by Ark, including 220,012 shares for $13.9 million in July after CRCL fell below $64, as well as 109,129 shares for $6.83 million later that month.
Circle’s stock has climbed 52.6% in the last month. Bernstein reiterated its Outperform rating and $140 price target for Circle, citing adoption of USDC▲$0.9999 in payments and blockchain-based capital markets, and agentic-payment use cases being developed.
Circle reported $701 million in revenue for Q2, a 7% increase year-on-year, with USDC circulation of $73.3bn at the end of the period. These two Ark purchases consolidate exposure to payment services and Bitcoin and stablecoin infrastructure companies.
Ark has also bought more cryptocurrency-related stocks in the past, including Coinbase, Bullish and Robinhood, so these stock purchases are a part of its broader market rebalancing strategy as well.
