Bitcoin is on track to post its largest monthly gain in August in five years, according to U.Today. BTC has risen around 24% so far this month, far above its historical average August return of -7.5%.
BTC fell 22.2% in the first quarter and 14.09% in the second quarter this year, but has rebounded 32.48% so far in the third quarter. U.Today noted that in 2017, BTC rose 80.41% in the third quarter before surging 215% in the fourth quarter, adding that it remains to be seen whether that pattern will repeat.
