Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $924.48 million in net weekly inflows, extending a strong two-week run that has added nearly $3 billion to the funds, though a hawkish Jackson Hole speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh triggered $201.81 million in outflows on Friday and snapped a nine-day positive streak. Ethereum ETFs continued their own remarkable stretch, attracting more than $824 million for the week and posting no red days since August 11. A single-day Ethereum haul of roughly $226 million nearly matched Bitcoin’s daily total, signaling that demand for the altcoin’s funds is closing the gap with their larger counterpart. Cumulative Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $54.63 billion by August 28, while Ethereum funds approached $13 billion.

Bitcoin ETFs Pull In $924 Million in a Week as Ethereum Funds Extend 17-Day Inflow Streak

Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds closed out a strong week with $924.48 million in net inflows, even as a hawkish speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh at Jackson Hole snapped a nine-day streak of positive flows on Friday. Ethereum funds, meanwhile, continued their own remarkable run, extending a streak of daily net inflows that has not seen a single red day since August 11.

The week’s totals underscore how dramatically investor appetite has shifted in recent weeks. Bitcoin ETFs took in $337.56 million on Monday, $314.37 million on Tuesday, $232.12 million on Wednesday, and $242.24 million on Thursday, before Friday’s $201.81 million in net outflows ended the streak. The reversal came as Warsh signaled a more restrictive policy stance, a development that rippled through risk assets broadly.

Despite the Friday pullback, the two-week picture remains striking. Bitcoin funds have attracted nearly $3 billion over that span, lifting cumulative total net inflows from under $52.8 billion on August 14 to $54.63 billion by August 28, according to data from SoSoValue.

The renewed momentum traces back to a shift in US Treasury Department monetary policy that sparked a broader crypto rally and drove nearly $2 billion into Bitcoin ETFs in a single prior week — the heaviest pace since the October 2025 downturn.

    Ethereum’s Quiet Surge

While Bitcoin dominated headlines, Ethereum funds delivered a performance that was nearly as impressive in relative terms. The products pulled in roughly $226 million on a single day, a haul that came close to matching Bitcoin’s daily total and highlighted how demand for the second-largest cryptocurrency’s ETF complex has tightened the gap with its larger rival.

For the full week, Ethereum ETFs attracted more than $824 million in net inflows. Thursday stood out as the heaviest session, with $234.51 million entering the funds, followed by $192.35 million on Wednesday and $179.80 million on Thursday. Friday added another $115.57 million — in contrast to Bitcoin’s outflows that day.

Cumulative net inflows for Ethereum funds have climbed from $11.44 billion on August 11 to nearly $13 billion by August 28. The underlying asset’s price has moved in tandem, rocketing from around $1,900 to above $2,500 over the same period before stalling just below that level.

    Metric Bitcoin ETFs Ethereum ETFs
    Weekly net inflows $924.48M $824M+
    Friday flows -$201.81M +$115.57M
Cumulative net inflows (as of Aug 28) $54.63B ~$13B
Inflow streak 9 days (ended Friday) 17+ days (ongoing)

Note: Figures based on SoSoValue data cited in the original report. Ethereum cumulative figure reflects the period from August 11 to August 28.

    What’s Driving the Shift

The convergence in daily flows between the two asset classes is notable because Ethereum ETF demand has generally trailed Bitcoin’s since both product categories launched. A single session in which Ethereum nearly matched Bitcoin suggests institutional investors are becoming more willing to allocate meaningful capital to the altcoin at once, rather than gradually building exposure over weeks.

That said, the comparison deserves context. Bitcoin ETF flows have not been uniformly positive, and the nine-day streak that ended Friday — coinciding with BTC slipping below $78,000 — is a reminder that daily flows can swing sharply in both directions. Broader risk appetite remains tied to macro conditions, and Warsh’s Jackson Hole remarks served as a fresh reminder that monetary policy expectations can quickly recalibrate crypto fund flows.

The bull case for Ethereum rests on the idea that sustained ETF inflows signal rising mainstream and institutional demand. The bear case is equally straightforward: one strong day, or even one strong week, does not by itself establish a durable trend. Confirmation would require several more sessions of comparable buying, particularly as the wider market continues to digest the Fed’s evolving stance and its implications for risk assets across stocks, gold, and digital currencies.
