- Total U.S. spot Ethereum ETF net inflows reached a record $1.42 billion in August 2026, with EIP-8141 confirmed for the upcoming Hegotá network upgrade.

Record ETF inflows and protocol upgrade strengthen investor demand
Strong institutional inflows into BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) drove over $1 billion of net new capital into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs between August 17 and August 27, 2026, according to Crypto. This wave of activity culminated in record-setting total net inflows of $1.42 billion for August 2026 across the sector, highlighting sustained demand among large investors, as reported by Cryptobriefing. In parallel, Ethereum core developers confirmed the inclusion of EIP-8141 in the forthcoming Hegotá upgrade, introducing native account abstraction and further supporting network utility.
Mixed momentum signals as technical support underpins price
On the technical front, ETH remains above its MA-20 and MA-50 on the hourly chart, as well as above the MA-200 on the daily timeframe. The Ichimoku Kijun level at $2,449 acts as immediate support. MACD signals positive momentum, while ADX stays neutral, suggesting limited trend strength. RSI and CCI both indicate ongoing buying pressure; Stochastic RSI is neutral and hovers near the overbought zone. Bull/Bear Power points to persistent buyer control, though the Awesome Oscillator does not currently confirm the uptrend.
Upward bias for ETH as range-bound trading persists
For the next 1–3 trading days, ETH is likely to consolidate within a range of $2,420 to $2,526. There is a 65% probability of an upward move, with a lower 35% chance of a downside scenario. Price action may remain sideways unless a breakout above resistance or drop below support prompts greater directional movement.
Previously it was reported that Ethereum faced persistent selling pressure despite strong institutional inflows and a tightening supply environment. The latest data reinforce institutional demand and improved technical positioning, making the immediate trading range of $2,420 to $2,526 critical for identifying any decisive breakout or renewed downside risk.
