BitGo Holdings has acquired the institutional trading business and related assets of NYDIG, closing a definitive agreement that moves the unit and its clients onto BitGo’s platform. Deal terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition adds NYDIG’s derivatives, structured products, financing and broader capital markets operation to BitGo’s existing custody, trading, settlement and wallet infrastructure. Roughly 30 NYDIG employees are joining BitGo as part of the transaction, along with the unit’s institutional client trading relationships.
BitGo said the expanded stack is expected to enhance its institutional markets platform, particularly around financing and derivatives, and to increase asset stickiness on platform. The company positions itself as a single regulated venue where institutions can combine custody, trading, financing, settlement and capital markets services.
“Institutions increasingly want to work with a trusted partner that can support the full lifecycle of digital assets – from custody and trading to financing and settlement,” BitGo CEO and co-founder Mike Belshe said, adding that the deal “will meaningfully scale our trading and infrastructure capabilities.”
NYDIG’s institutional trading business has catered to asset managers, hedge funds, corporates and family offices seeking liquidity and tailored risk management, and will now operate under BitGo’s infrastructure. NYDIG will focus its reing and HPC data center development pipeline, which it says exceeds 3 GW with more than 1 GW targeted for delivery in 2027–2028
