Bitcoin surged past $81,148 in early trade on August 28, but later trimmed some of those gains to trade just above $79,697 (10:07 IST), though representing a 1.29 percent increase over the past 24 hours and up 6.36 percent for the week.
According to Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, Bitcoin maintains market leadership with 59.8 percent dominance, while Ethereum accounts for 11.2 percent and other assets account for 29 percent. “BTC’s technical outlook remains broadly bullish, with 13 of 15 moving-average indicators showing Buy.”
According to CoinSwitch Markets, BTC is nearing a key $80K–$82K resistance zone, where almost 8 percent of BTC’s supply was previously acquired. Around 5 percent of total supply sits near $80K alone, meaning some investors may sell as BTC returns to their entry price, creating additional resistance.
Meanwhile, spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted more than $232 million on August 26, extending a strong run of inflows, while Ethereum ETFs drew nearly $192 million. The following session’s Bitcoin ETF flow turned modestly negative, highlighting that institutional demand is improving but not yet a one-way trend.

What should investors watch for
According to Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, “For now, the bias remains cautiously bullish: a sustained move above $82,400 could open the door to further gains, while losing $79,000 would weaken the near-term structure and increase the probability of a deeper pullback.”
