A South Korean court has ruled in Bithumb’s favor in the first trial over its mistaken Bitcoin payout incident in February, ordering the return of proceeds from the sale of wrongly credited BTC, Digital Asset reported.
The outlet said four separate return lawsuits are under way, and the first ruling in Bithumb’s favor has increased the likelihood that the exchange will recover sale proceeds in the other cases as well. The civil suit seeks the return of unjust enrichment from users who sold the mistakenly credited Bitcoin and kept the cash. Bithumb filed civil lawsuits in March against four users seeking the return of unjust enrichment.
