Strategy (MSTR), formerly known as MicroStrategy, is once again at the center of the <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/can-the-taxman-trace-who-sent-the-crypto/” title=”Can the Taxman Trace Who Sent the Crypto?”>cryptocurrency market’s explosive rebound as a historic Bitcoin (BTCUSD) short squeeze sends crypto-linked stocks sharply higher. On Aug. 20, a record $2.7 billion in bearish crypto positions were liquidated within 24 hours, with more than $1 billion in Bitcoin shorts closed in roughly one hour. The forced buying helped Bitcoin break above $71,000 and triggered a powerful rally across crypto equities, with Strategy shares jumping as much as 7.8% on Aug. 20 and 6.1% on Aug. 21.
The move has since grown far beyond a one-day squeeze. Bitcoin surged more than 25% over the past week and subsequently pushed above $80,000 on Aug. 25, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar, increased Treasury bond buybacks, and renewed optimism around U.S. crypto regulation. For Strategy, the rebound is particularly significant because of its massive Bitcoin holding, giving its stock substantial sensitivity to movements in the cryptocurrency.

However, can the rally continue after the short sellers have been forced out? The next phase may depend on sustained Bitcoin momentum, institutional demand, and Strategy’s ability to manage its capital structure.
