    1. US spot Bitcoin ETFs logged a sixth straight inflow day, adding $337.6 million and lifting assets to $98.56 billion.
    2. August Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $2.72 billion as turnover tripled and IBIT call activity set records.
    3. Assets sit $1.44 billion below $100 billion, while 2026 net flows remain negative despite August’s rebound.

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) extended their inflow streak to six trading days on Monday, adding another $337.6 million and pushing the run to roughly $2.26 billion.

The latest intake has put the funds on course for their strongest month of 2026. Bitcoin ETFs have attracted about $2.72 billion in August already surpassing April’s previous full-month high of roughly $1.97 billion

Nearly $1.92 billion of that capital arrived last week alone, as Bitcoin surged through $70,000 and approached $80,000. The cryptocurrency extended the rally above $80,000 on Tuesday for the first time since May, taking its August gain to roughly 28%.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has captured much of the renewed demand. IBIT drew about $1.33 billion last week and another $208.9 million Monday, accounting for around 62% of the day’s Bitcoin ETF inflows. Fidelity’s FBTC followed with about $104.6 million.

The rebound has helped reverse months of weak ETF demand, though the products remain roughly $2.57 billion in net outflows for 2026.

That leaves August’s acceleration as the strongest evidence yet that capital is returning to the funds after the prolonged drawdown earlier in the year.

ETF turnover triples as IBIT call activity hits records

The renewed inflows are arriving alongside a sharp increase in trading activity.

Data from CheckOnChain showed that US spot Bitcoin ETFs generated about $22.1 billion in turnover last week, more than triple the roughly $6.9 billion traded the previous week. Monday added another $5.36 billion in trading volume as Bitcoin extended its rally.

The increase shows activity is rising beyond daily creations. ETF trading volume measures shares changing hands between investors, while net flows capture capital entering or leaving the funds. Both have accelerated during the latest Bitcoin advance.

Meanwhile, bullish demand has also moved into the options market around IBIT.

The Kobeissi Letter said call-option volume on the BlackRock fund surged to a record 1.58 million contracts Wednesday, its highest daily total on record.

Call volume remained above 1 million contracts in each of the three sessions from Wednesday through Friday, while call skew rose 0.05 points over the period. Kobeissi said that was the largest three-day increase in at least two years and more than triple the average three-day move since January 2025.

The rise in call skew indicates traders were increasingly willing to pay higher premiums for upside exposure relative to downside protection as Bitcoin climbed.

The simultaneous increase in ETF turnover and IBIT options activity suggests investors are expressing the rally through several layers of the regulated market rather than through fund inflows alone.

The data does not identify whether every trade came from an institutional investor. However, the growing activity in IBIT and other large funds shows heavier participation through products and derivatives widely used by professional money managers.

Rally pushes Bitcoin ETFs back toward $100 billion

The combination of new inflows and Bitcoin’s price appreciation has pushed total assets in US spot Bitcoin ETFs to $98.56 billion, leaving the category about $1.44 billion short of $100 billion.

That marks a rapid recovery from mid-August, when the funds held roughly $76.6 billion.

Their asset base has therefore expanded by nearly $22 billion in six trading sessions, far exceeding the $2.26 billion of net inflows recorded during the same streak.

Most of that increase has come from the rising value of Bitcoin already held by the funds rather than new capital alone. Bitcoin’s surge from around the low-$60,000 range to above $80,000 has lifted the market value of ETF holdings as investors have resumed adding money.

The distinction is significant because it shows two forces working together. Existing ETF portfolios are appreciating rapidly, while fresh inflows are running at their strongest monthly pace of the year.

Bitcoin ETFs previously held more than $104 billion in assets in mid-May before falling sharply as the cryptocurrency declined and investors pulled capital from the products.

The latest recovery has now brought them within about 1.5% of reclaiming the $100 billion threshold.

Another $1.44 billion increase in assets would take US spot Bitcoin ETFs back above that level, with August’s inflow surge, rising turnover and record IBIT call activity giving the rebound considerably broader support than price appreciation alone.
